Pamela Love, another amazing jewelry designer living and working in New York City,  was invited by Zadig & Voltaire to design a jewelry collection of 6 unique pieces for this brand. Exploring the sense of magic, the ancestral and the unknow was the main theme of this collection for 2013 Spring.

STONE REPORT - Rubellite

The Rubellite belongs to the family of Tourmalines, sparkles in beautiful shades range from red to shocking pink. The name comes from the Latin name ‘rubellus’ that means reddish and rubellites are not just red or shocking pink tourmalines. There is a criterion to be followed and met for a red tourmaline to be called a rubellite tourmaline. Tourmalines are all related gemstones where the different colored stones are named by adding the color to the term. Red colored tourmalines are basically called red tourmalines. Pink Tourmalines, Green Tourmalines and Paraiba Tourmalines are all very popular forms.

Basically, gemstones tend to change color based on the light source. However this does not exist in the case of true rubellites. This means that the rubellite tends to shine as intensely in artificial light as it does in daylight. In the case of red or pink tourmaline, the stone tends to display a tinge of brown in the presence of artificial light.

Rubellites are found in abundance in Brazil, Mozambique, Nigeria, Madagascar, Pakistan and also in USA. Today Rubellite Tourmaline is one of the most popular gemstones available and fits well with almost any jewelry. 

La Rubellita pertenece a la familia de las Turmalinas, resplandece su color en matices hermosos desde la gama del rojo al rosa impactante. El nombre viene del Latin "rubellus", que significa rojizo; rubelitas no son sólo de color rojo, o el color impactante de las tourmalinas rosas. Hay un criterio a ser seguido para que una turmalina roja se llame  turmalina rubelita. Turmalinas son todas las piedras preciosas relacionados donde las piedras de colores diferentes se nombran añadiendo el color a la palabra. Turmalinas de color rojo son, básicamente, llamadas de turmalinas rojas. Turmalinas Rosas, Turmalinas Verdes y Turmalinas Paraiba son formas muy populares.
Básicamente, las piedras preciosas tienden a cambiar de color en función de la fuente de luz. Sin embargo, esto no existe en el caso de rubelitas verdaderas. Esto significa que la rubelita tiende a brillar tan intensamente en luz artificial como lo hace la luz del día. En el caso de color rojo o turmalina rosa, la piedra tiende a mostrar un tinte de color marrón en presencia de luz artificial.
Rubelitas se encuentran en abundancia en Brasil, Mozambique, Nigeria, Madagascar, Pakistán, y también en EE.UU. Hoy en día, Turmalina Rubellita, es una de las piedras preciosas más populares disponibles y encaja bien con casi cualquier tipo de joyas.
