STONE REPORT - Rubellite

The Rubellite belongs to the family of Tourmalinessparkles in beautiful shades range from red to shocking pink. The name comes from the Latin name ‘rubellus’ that means reddish and rubellites are not just red or shocking pink tourmalines. There is a criterion to be followed and met for a red tourmaline to be called a rubellite tourmaline. Tourmalines are all related gemstones where the different colored stones are named by adding the color to the term. Red colored tourmalines are basically called red tourmalines. Pink TourmalinesGreen Tourmalines and Paraiba Tourmalines are all very popular forms.
Basically, gemstones tend to change color based on the light source. However this does not exist in the case of true rubellites. This means that the rubellite tends to shine as intensely in artificial light as it does in daylight. In the case of red or pink tourmaline, the stone tends to display a tinge of brown in the presence of artificial light.
Rubellites are found in abundance in BrazilMozambiqueNigeriaMadagascarPakistan and also in USA. Today Rubellite Tourmaline is one of the most popular gemstones available and fits well with almost any jewelry.

DELFINA DELETTREZ´S "MAGIC TRIANGLE" CAMPAIGN

Delfina Delettrez´s one of the most emergent jewelry designers,  for fall-winter 2013 collection delves looking to otherworldly and alien phenomena.
This collection is inspired by a fascination of the unknown presented in a film directed by Daniel Sannwald. It all began when she was gazing at the night sky and thinking about what—or, more specifically, who might be up there. The result is her Magic Triangle collection!
Watch the Film by Daniel Sannwald, who created futuristic artificial landscapes where Delettrez's jewellery mingles with crumbling statuary and other fragments from the past remind me the sureal world paintings of Salvador Dalí.

STONE REPORT - Green Jade

Jade or "yu" as it is called in China, truly is one name for two separate gems with similar characteristics. The first being Jadeite, the second Nephrite, both are indeed "Jade".
It was in 1863 when the two stones were recognized separately. Nephrite is more common, but both are tough, fine-grained rocks, suitable for carving.
In Europe, the technical characteristics of the two varieties were first published by Damour in 1863; the Chinese were aware of the differences long before.
Jadeite, the rarest and most valuable form of jade, is also known as "Burmese Jade". It has been in wide use only since the mid -18th century, and today is considered the "precious" form of jade. Most "fine jewelry" items of jade consist of jadeite. Jadeite exhibits a wide palette of sometimes vibrant colors, often with translucence. Green is the most valuable color; in particular, a translucent emerald-green is the most prized of all, and is sometimes called "Imperial Green". Jadeite is also available in lavender, red, yellow, black and white.
Nephrite, the traditional form of jade, has been used for over 5000 years by many different cultures throughout the world. It is the Chinese, however, that raised the craft of jade carving to an art, and who appreciated it on the deepest levels; the rich mix of mythology and religion in China seemed to find it's highest expression in the virtues of jade. Nephrite colors are subdued, and range from grey to brown to blue-green to black. Translucence is rare. The highest quality comes from Siberia, and sometimes New Zealand or AustraliaTaiwan has good nephrite, but the giant of all producers today is British Columbia.
